Polokwane City unveil new coach Jozef Vukusic and Mohammed Anas signing among others

Polokwane City have appointed Jozef Vukusic as their new coach and unveiled seven player signings, including former Free State Stars striker Mohammed Anas.

Slovakian Vukusic takes over the reins from Bernard Molekwa, who is demoted to assistant coach after steering City to a 12th-place finish in the Absa Premiership last term.

Vukusic, an UEFA Pro Licence holder, previously coached FC Cape Town in the National First Division in 2010.

Meanwhile, Anas has linked up with Rise and Shine from Ea Lla Koto, just a couple of months after celebrating Nedbank Cup success. The Ghanaian, however, fell out of favour at the club after he was linked with a move to Bidvest Wits during the January transfer window.

The ex-Maritzburg United man played 25 matches in all competitions in 2017/18, scoring six times and providing two assists. His signing means last season’s joint-top scorer Rodney Ramagalela will have more support upfront.

Besides Anas, Rise and Shine have added Lehlohonolo Nhlapo, Themba Chauke, Khayalethu Mjoli, Tebogo Kalake, Bongani Manavhela and Msekeli Mvalo to their roster.

The club have parted ways with Thabiso Semenya, Thapelo Tshilo, Nazier Jacobs, Randy Ngobe, Rendani Ndou and Donald Mokondelela.
