Nigeria are aiming to be the first African team to qualify for the knock-out stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and end Lionel Messi's time in Russia when they face Argentina at the Saint Petersburg Stadium tonight.
Despite a disastrous campaign that has been resuscitated by Nigeria's victory over Iceland, Argentina have a chance of progressing to the knock-out stage.
They do, however, also remain in danger of returning home without a single victory for the first time within the modern FIFA World Cup format.
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr previously played down their chances at Russia 2018 but is now optimistic of pulling off a shock victory tonight and secure their sixth appearance in the knock-out stage.
"I thought before this World Cup we were here to learn. I think this team will be ready in 2022 and this World Cup is coming early, but we have a good chance to win against Argentina."
Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has yet to register a goal in the tournament but will look to inspire the South American giants to victory.
