There was a mixed bag of results for the various South Africans playing in leagues across Europe and America in this weekend’s football action.

KERMIT ERASMUS
After suffering his first loss in a AFC Ekilstuna shirt last week – the club’s first loss in 10 games – Erasmus featured for 76 minutes in his eighth start for the Swedish Second Division club as they could only manage a goalless draw against ninth-placed Oster, slipping down one place to fourth on the log after 14 games.

THEMBI KGATLANA/ LINDA MOTHLALO/ JANINE VAN WYK
As has been the norm, Van Wyk and Mathlalo both started before Kgatlana was introduced in the second half as NWSL side Houston Dash went down 3-1 to Portland Thorns, the loss leaving them seventh on the log with 14 points after 13 games.

LINDO MFEKA
Mfeka made his 13th appearance of the season as USL side Reno 1868 beat San Antonio 2-0 away from home, their sixth win of the season, to remain seventh on the USL Western Conference log after 16 games.

LEBOGANG MOLOTO
Moloto’s Nashville exited the US Open Cup in the Last 16 following last week’s 2-1 loss to Louisville City, and will only be in action again on Tuesday ahead of their league encounter against Indy Eleven. Nashville currently sit fourth in the USL Eastern Conference standings after 13 games.

KGAOGELO SEKGOTA
In his 17th game of the season last week, the 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Lithuanian top-flight club Stumbras beat third-placed Trakai 1-0 to take them up to fourth on the log. They next face fifth-placed Atlantas on Tuesday.
