Aubrey Ngoma will look finally to get going at Mamelodi Sundowns

Competition for places will be even harder at Mamelodi Sundowns and one of the many men who will be determined to play regularly is Aubrey Ngoma.

At the start of the 2017/18 campaign, Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane wanted to sign Ngoma and Lebogang Manyama from Cape Town City, but he missed out on both players, as the latter moved to play his football in Turkey.

Ngoma, however, stayed on with the Citizens but struggled with injury in the first half of the season. Mosimane, though, was committed to getting his man and in January Ngoma finally made the move to Chloorkop as Kwanda Mngonyama went the opposite direction.

Ngoma, who won the Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season prize in 2016/17 for his 16 assists, made just three league appearances for Mosimane’s side before the close of the previous campaign.

With the new season coming; however, Ngoma will no doubt be looking to break into the team. He definitely has the quality to play regularly and, if he’s on form, can provide assists for the likes of Percy Tau, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Jeremy Brockie.

Competition on the left, of course, will not be easy. There’s George Lebese who is also trying to establish himself as a regular in the side while new signing Toni Silva can also be played out wide.
