Egypt superstar Mohamed Salah may have enjoyed a record-breaking Premier League season with Liverpool but it's been claimed he's 'not a world-class football star'.
Former Russia forward Dimitri Cheryshev, the father of two-goal hero Denis from the hosts opening 5-0 victory against Suadi Arabia - claims the Eastern Europeans have nothing to be afraid of.
"Salah is an exceptional player, but he is not a world-class football star, who can compete for the Golden Boot," Cheryshev told the media, as quoted by KingFut.
"Right now, the contenders for the award are Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar and maybe England’s Harry Kane
"Liverpool uses Salah properly, here, in the Egyptian national team, things will be different."
Russia face the Pharoes on Tuesday, June 19 at the Krestovosky Stadium in St. Petersburg.
