Sundowns recruits report for duty

Toni Silva and Andile Jali have officially started their Mamelodi Sundowns careers after reporting for their first day of work at Chloorkop today.

The midfielders are the only two signings made by Sundowns during the off-season and are expected to be registered for the CAF Champions League.

Silva and Jali both penned five-year contracts with the Absa Premiership champions following respective spells at Greek side Levadiakos and Belgian outfit Oostende.

Silva's manager Godwin Emmanuel confirmed the Guinea Bissau international touched down in South Africa on the weekend.

"He arrived on Saturday and is set to start training with Sundowns on Monday," said Emmanuel.

Goalkeeper coach Wendell Robinson is expected to take the first team through their paces while head coach Pitso Mosimane and his assistant Manqoba Mngqithi are in Russia for the World Cup.
