Brazil superstar Neymar on best in the world amidst Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo exploits

Posted: 16 June 2018 Time: 13:00

Brazil forward Neymar believes he is the best player in world football despite previously admitting he is not worth his world-record transfer fee.

Neymar has twice finished third in the Ballon d'Or voting behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but could compete for the 2018 prize should he shine in Russia over the next month.

However, the Paris-Saint Germain world-record transfer holder feels the pair who have shared the award over the past decade are simply on another level - and he is the best of the rest.

"The two who are above all others today are Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi," he told YouTube channel Desimpedidos.

"For all modesty, today I am the best player in the world - because they are from another planet."

Brazil start their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign against Switzerland on Sunday.
