New Baroka FC coach Wedson Nyirenda described Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane as “a son of Africa” and is looking forward to mingling with him.
Nyirenda, a former Kaizer Chiefs player, was announced as Bakgaga’s new coach on Friday, a big move by the club to bring in someone with tons of continental experience.
A man who also has continental experience is Mosimane, the man Nyirena is looking forward to coming up against when the new PSL season gets underway.
Nyirenda says Baroka will play good football and they will show a character of champions.
“We cannot promise mountains, but I can just say people will see a big difference and they will see good football. They will see a team with a character of a champion. My biggest love of all these things is that I will be mingling with people like Pitso. I respect him so much, he has done great things and he is a son of Africa,” Nyirenda says.
“Micho [Milutin Sredojevic] at Pirates as well and Mr [Luc] Eymael of Free State Stars. These are great guys, like Gavin Hunt who I played with at Hellenic. He was my captain. They have inspired me a lot and I think this is the time to rub shoulders with them. I have done my things in Zambia, with the national team and clubs, but now it’s time to rub shoulders.”
