Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane has welcomed the acquisition of Bafana Bafana teammate Andile Jali, and gives some insight into what he can expect at the club.

The Brazilians confirmed the arrival of the 28-year-old earlier this week, announcing his arrival on a free transfer after he parted ways with Belgian club KV Oostende last month.

This put an end to speculation on the former Orlando Pirates stalwart’s future, with reports linking him to Kaizer Chiefs as well as a possible return to The Buccaneers.

Zwane has since expressed his joy at Jali’s decision to come to Chloorkop, and highlights the value he will bring to the team.

“Obviously Andile is a top player, he’s a quality player. For me, I’m happy that he’s coming to the team,” Zwane tells KickOff.com.

“I think he’ll bring that movement in the midfield, creating goals and defending – you know he can defend and attack at the same time.

“So, I’m happy to see him coming to Sundowns. I’ve been with him since under-23, so I know his quality and we understand each other.”

Zwane, who has been a Sundowns player since 2011, putting aside his loan spell at Mpumalanga Black Aces in the 2013/14 season, has also given his new teammate some insight into what he can expect at the eight-time PSL champions.

“He’ll obviously improve his game, I’m sure they’ve already told him how things are done at the club, with analysing our games,” he adds.

“If they feel like you need to do extra work after training they will tell you, they will make a program for you to do extra.

“And wherever you’re lacking in your game, they will appoint someone to work with you so that you can improve in that area.”
