France wonderkid Kylian Mbappe has issued an update on his injury as he was forced to leave training early yesterday following a challenge with defender Adil Rami.
Mbappe, 19, is widely expected to light up the global showpiece as one of the most highly-rated young talents in world football at the moment.
After scoring 21 goals and registering 16 assists in 46 games in a domestic treble-winning season with Paris Saint-Germain, his suspected ankle injury raised a real cause for concern within France media.
However, the teenager has allayed the initial fears ahead of their opening Group C game against Austrailia on Saturday.
"I am doing fine, it was just a knock, so nothing serious but thank you for your messages," he wrote via his official Twitter account while urging fans to "lay off my friend Adil Rami as it was not malicious."
The €180m (R2.82b) signing from AS Monaco has scored four goals and registered five assists in 15 caps since making his debut last year.
