Neymar draws level with Romario's 55 goals for Brazil after netting in final FIFA World Cup warm-up game

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar only trails iconic figures Ronaldo Nazário and Pelé in the all-time scorers' list for Brazil after scoring in their final FIFA World Cup warm-up fixture this weekend.

Since recovering from the broken metatarsal injury suffered with PSG in February this year, Neymar has scored in consecutive fixtures upon his return.

Both goals displayed the individual brilliance that has made him the most expensive transfer in football history, but yesterday's strike in the 3-0 win over Austria proved to be a historic moment.

The Selecao superstar moved to 55 goals in 85 caps, equaling the record of 1994 World Cup winner Romario.

The 26-year-old needs just seven more goals to draw level with former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazário (62).

While his ultimate goal will be to catch a fellow Santos icon in Pelé, as the three-time World Cup winner stands clear at the top of the list with 77.
