America-based Lebogang Moloto continued his superb form with a second goal in as many games in a relatively successful weekend for South African players abroad.
Erasmus’s incredible run at Swedish Second Division outfit AFC Ekilstuna continued over the weekend, as he played the full 90 minutes in his sixth start for the club as they registered a 2-0 win over 10th-placed Landskrona, lifting them up to second in the standings after 12 games and just two points behind leaders Falkenberg. In eight games in which Erasmus has featured since joining, Ekilstuna are yet to taste defeat.
Mayambela is still sidelined through injury, unable to participate as Swedish Second Division side Brage bounced back from last week’s defeat to beat 13th-placed Varberg 1-0 to now sit sixth in the standings after 12 games.
Mfeka featured in his 11th game of the season, playing the entire game as Reno 1868 drew 1-1 with Fresno FC, a result which leaves them seventh on the USL Western Conference log after 14 games.
Moloto continued his good form in the USL, netting for a second week in succession as his low left-footed drive opened the scoring in Nashville’s eventual 1-1 draw with Tampa Bay Rowdies. Nashville, who remain sixth in the Eastern Conference standings, now boast the longest unbeaten streak in North American football, having gone undefeated for 10 straight games.
