Golden Arrows have indicated Jabulani Shongwe could be kept on at the club next season.
Shongwe saw out the remaining months of his contract with Bidvest Wits on loan at Arrows in 2017/18, having spent the previous campaign on the periphery amid fierce competition for game-time from Xola Mlambo, Thabang Monare and Granwald Scott at Sturrock Park.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker last month said he enjoyed his football in Durban but would discuss his options with agent Jazzman Mahlakgane.
"When someone is on loan he goes back to his parent club," Arrows chairperson Mato Madlala says to KickOff.com when quizzed about Shongwe.
"We got enough time as the season has just ended and everyone is on a break, but he'll be back with the team on the 18th [when Arrows start pre-season]."
The 28-year-old Shongwe scored twice in 21 appearances for Clinton Larsen's side as they secured a second straight top-eight finish in the Absa Premiership.
Abafana Bes'thende recent agreed fresh terms with striker Lerato Lamola and extended the stay of Malawian defender Limbikini Mzava, but Kudakwashe Mahachi is heading to Orlando Pirates, while fellow Zimbabwean attacker Thomas Chideu has been released.
