Mogakolodi Ngele looks to remain a Mamelodi Sundowns player next season, but chances are he will not play for the club.
The Botswana international, whose left foot is among the most educated in the PSL, will return to the club after spending the second half of the past season on loan, though he looks set for another spell away from his parent side next term.
Ngele was at Tshwane rivals SuperSport United after joining them in the January transfer window. This is after he made only one appearance for Pitso Mosimane’s side as a substitute in the first half of the season. The campaign before that, the former Platinum Stars man spent a season on loan at Bidvest Wits and won the Absa Premiership title with the Clever Boys.
According to a source close to the player, there’s interest in the player, including from Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
“There’s interest in the player. Cape Town City and Chiefs are interested,” said the source.
Staying at Sundowns is not going to help Ngele at all because he is unlikely to get game-time ahead of the likes of Sibusiso Vilakazi, Gaston Sirino, Themba Zwane and recently signed Toni Silva.
The player was registered as a South African by Sundowns at the start of last season, so whoever signs him will not have to worry about the foreign quota.
