Bevan Fransman's agent Steve Kapeluschnik has explained the player’s reasons for joining promoted side Highlands Park.
Fransman, who agonised over the decision, has penned a two-year contract with Highlands after rejecting a one-year contract extension with Maritzburg United.
The 34-year-old is returning to Gauteng, having previously played for Kaizer Chiefs, Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United.
"Yes, I can tell you that Fransman signed a new contract yesterday with Highlands Park for two years," Kapeluschnik tells KickOff.com.
"And he is very excited for joining them. I just think they offered him a good deal and he was looking for a new challenge.
"He is happy to come back to Gauteng because you know he's got family here, a home and all of that stuff."
The lanky defender will add valuable experience to a Highlands backline that was solid on the way to winning National First Division honours in 2017/18.
