The Egyptian FA have agreed to release winger Ramadan Sobhi to travel back to England in order to complete a medical ahead of his Stoke City exit.
Sobhi, 21, signed a five-year contract extension with the Potters last August but went on to play a peripheral role in their relegation to the Championship this season.
However, his two goals in 13 starts this season attracted widespread interest in his services across Europe, while Al Ahly were also mooted as a possible destination.
The Egyptian FA have since revealed that Huddersfield Town has won the race for the fleet-footed winger's signature, where he will undergo a medical with David Wagner's side today.
"Ramadan Sobhi is undergoing a medical screening to move to Huddersfield Town and will return (to Italy) this afternoon," they confirmed on Twitter.
Egypt begin their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on June 15, before playing hosts Russia on June 19 and Saudi Arabia on June 25
