Players Abroad: Mfeka, Moloto on target

America-based duo Lindo Mfeka and Lebogang Moloto both registered their names on the scoresheet in a successful weekend for South African footballers playing abroad.
Erasmus’ Swedish Second Division AFC Eskilstuna will be in action this evening, where they will look to stretch their eight-match unbeaten run in the league against Jonkopings Sodra. Three points will take them to joint-top of the standings after 11 games.

Vera Pauw continued with her usual trend of starting Van Wyk and Mathlalo before introducing Kgatlana in the second-half as NWSL side Houston Dash were held to a 1-1 draw against North Carolina Courage. The point leaves Dash seventh on the log with 14 points after 12 games, 16 points behind top-of-the-log Courage.
Mahlangu saw out Dinamo Bucuresti’s campaign, playing the full 90 minutes in his 35th appearance of the season as Bucuresti ended the season with a 0-0 draw against Sepsi, securing top spot in their relegation play-off league to ensure top-flight football next season.
Mayambela was absent for a third week in succession after being substituted off in the 26th minute against Degerfors last month as Swedish Second Division side Brage lost 2-0 to Norrby, leaving them seventh on the log after 11 games.
Mfeak was on target for the third time this season, slashing home the winner in the 76th minute as USL side Reno 1868 beat OKC Energy 2-1 to jump up to sixth on the Western Conference log after 13 games.
Moloto’s superbly-placed strike helped USL side Nashville maintain their eight-match unbeaten run following their 3-1 victory over Penn FC, lifting them up to sixth in the Eastern Conference USL table after 11 games.
