Keagan Buchanan looks likely to depart Kaizer Chiefs as a free agent as his representatives Siyavuma Sports Group negotiate for the mutual termination of his contract.
Buchanan has failed to match expectations since joining Chiefs in July 2016 from Bloemfontein Celtic.
The 27-year-old, who was handed the coveted jersey number 10 on his arrival at Naturena, has only played 10 games for the Soweto giants.
"We haven't agreed anything officially as yet, but it looks highly likely [Buchanan will leave]. And yes, all he needs is game-time, nothing else," a spokesperson from SSG tells KickOff.com.
"And to be honest, I don't want to comment [until] we have finalised anything."
SSG oversaw Siyanda Xulu's contract termination with Amakhosi last year, with the player since being named PSL Defender of the Season and Bafana Bafana captain for the COSAFA Cup following his heroics for Maritzburg United.
Maritzburg made clear their interest in Buchanan in December.
