Stoke City forward Ramadan Sobhi mulling over potential Al Ahly return or Premier League stay

Egypt star forward Ramadan Sobhi looks set to depart from relegated Stoke City before the FIFA World Cup begins, after receiving offers from Al Ahly and 'several' Premier League sides.

Sobhi, 21, joined Stoke in July 2016 in a reported £5m deal after starring with the Red Devils, where he won two Egyptian League titles, the Egyptian Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup.

However, the past two seasons with the Potters has yielded just three goals and as many assists in 46 games, while the club's recent relegation to the Championship has prompted the Egyptian star to seek greener pastures.

"Ramadan is close from staying in the Premier League and there are offers to the player from league clubs," his agent Nader Shawky told Mega FM while admitting interest to return to Al Ahly.

"Indeed there were contact with Al Sheikh, but Ramadan prefers to continue in Europe. Although the player was offered to be paid in English pounds at the Red Castle but we aren't looking for money," added Shawky.

"He will return to Al Ahly only if he feels that he will receive game time to regain his confidence. He is still young and is still learning but the fans are rushing and should be patient."

Sobhi, capped 24 times by the Pharoes is currently part of Hector Cuper's squad, who face off against Uruguay on June 15 for their first World Cup appearance since 1990.
