Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha determined to beat Platinum Stars in promotion-relegation play-offs tie

Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha believes gaining three points against Platinum Stars this weekend will see his team on their way to attaining their Absa Premiership dream.

Leopards top the promotion-relegation play-offs log with four points from two games - two points ahead of Jomo Cosmos, and three clear of Platinum Stars with two matches left.

Kick-off is at 20h15 at Moruleng Stadium on Saturday.

"It's true, three points will help us a lot tomorrow," Masutha tells KickOff.com.

"If we can get three points tomorrow we are gone. Cosmos will not beat us at home. I saw a lot of improvement in Stars' game on Wednesday because they did create chances, it's only that they don't make use of them. Even though defensively they didn't start well but as the game progressed you could see they have now improved. So we are expecting a difficult game tomorrow because they also know that if they don't get a win tomorrow then it's finished for them. So they will fight with everything they got and us as well. We know we are not supposed to lose tomorrow's game, so it is going to be an end-to-end affair. I personally trust in my players with the quality that we've got, though it won't be easy. But we must get the three points."

Masutha says Dikwena will be making a mistake if they focus too heavily on lethal striker Mwape Musonda, who scored a brace in the 2-2 draw against Ezenkosi last Sunday.

"You know, we've been getting goals from different players, it's not like we rely on Musonda alone. But then it's a plus because for them to stop him they must assign two players who will focus on him, and by so doing they will open spaces for the other players. And another thing Musonda knows how to lose defenders, so that's not a problem for us.

"I think we need only four points. We must just not lose our next game tomorrow. But we are alright, we have a full squad for tomorrow."
