Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo on comparisons with Liverpool top scorer Mohamed Salah

Posted: 25 May 2018 Time: 13:00

Real Madrid club record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo has explained why comparisons with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah should end ahead of the UEFA Champions League final.

Salah has capitulated into the European limelight with his impressive 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League en route to the final in Kiev but his overall record for the season has brought about the comparisons.

With 44 goals across all competitions, the Egypt international is one goal ahead of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, but Ronaldo has been swift to end the media reports brewing.

"People want to compare me with other players, I am different to everyone. Salah is different to everyone. So we are different," he told BT Sport.

"He plays with the left, I play with the right, I'm tall, he's a little bit shorter. I play with my head, you know -- we are completely different.

"But I have to say he has had a fantastic season, but Saturday, let's see."
