OGC Nice star midfielder Jean Michael Seri still an Arsenal transfer target after Unai Emery arrival

Arsenal are reportedly still interested in bringing Ivory Coast star Jean Michael Seri to the club despite the arrival of new manager Unai Emery.

Seri, 26, looked set to join FC Barcelona last season but the Spanish giants opted out the deal at the last minute, which has left Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain the two interested parties.

The diminutive playmaker, who's playing still has often been compared to Barca legend Xavi has a £35m release clause in his contract, which the Gunners will look to activate in the off-season.

According to Sky Sports, Emery attempted to sign Seri for PSG last season but was forced to sign Lassana Diarra on a free transfer due to financial fair play regulations after the world-record Neymar deal.

With Jack Wilshere future uncertain as his contract expires next month, the arrival of the 18-time capped Ivorian could be the first sign of Emery's new imprint on the Gunners.

Seri scored two goals and registered 10 assists in 43 games for Nice across all competitions in the 2017/18 campaign.
