Wedson Nyirenda has resigned as coach of Zambia, fuelling speculation the former Kaizer Chiefs striker is on the way to Baroka.
KickOff.com on Monday revealed Bakgaga were in talks with Nyirenda, who had been in charge of Chipolopolo since September 2016.
The Limpopo-based club ended a poor 2017/18 with technical director Doctor Khumalo serving as an interim coach after Kgoloko Thobejane and later MacDonald Makhubedu were both forced out.
The Football Association of Zambia have since announced Nyirenda has quit his post, with Beston Chambeshi expected to steer the country at the upcoming COSAFA Cup in Polokwane.
"The process to fill the vacancy of head coach will begin and the association will conclude the process in the shortest possible time to meet upcoming engagements," said FAZ general secretary Ponga Liwewe.
