Platinum Stars goalkeeper Dino Visser says Dikwena should show no mercy as they look to resuscitate their chances of emerging victorious from the promotional play-offs.

Dikwena got off to a false start with a 1-0 loss to Black Leopards in their first match of the play-offs last week. However, a 2-2 draw between Leopards and Jomo Cosmos provided a glimmer of hope for Roger de Sa’s men.

"Our start to the play-offs was obviously not good. We went there to get three points but we didn’t get them. Fortunately Cosmos and Leopards drew and once again we have our destiny in our own hands. We are going to win on Wednesday," says Visser.

Stars will host Cosmos tonight at Moruleng Stadium.

"We have to go there and respect our opponents but when opportunities arise we need to take them, however big or small. We have to be ruthless. Ruthless is an attitude. It’s a manner in which you approach the game. It’s a state of mind, not just physical."

Visser says that when Jomo Sono and his men arrive at Moruleng Stadium, it won’t be a walk in the park.

"It’s going to be a tough game. These are not the kind of games where one team walks over the other team. It’s never like that. Everyone is fighting. It’s not always the prettiest football display. We expect a really tough game. They are fighting for their lives and so are we. At home we need to be ruthless. We need to take our destiny into our own hands. We need to step up to the plate and take what is ours," says Visser, who urged Dikwena supporters to come out in numbers.

"You go to Thohoyandou and you see how the supporters act as the 12th man for Leopards. We would appreciate that our supporters come out and give their full support to the team for these play-offs. As always, we would appreciate the support."
