AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela says the future of strikers Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhudi Khenyeza will be much clearer by the end of this week.
Usuthu are locked in negotiations with the veterans, who have both hit over 100 goals in domestic football.
The 40-year-old Nomvethe scored twice in 21 appearances in all competitions this past season, while the 35-year-old Khenyeza finished the campaign with four goals and two assists.
They may not have found the back of the net regularly, but the duo are believed to provide a mentoring role to the younger players in Cavin Johnson's team.
"We are about to finalise our agreement with them in the next day or two," Sokhela tells KickOff.com.
"We are negotiating about everything, there's nothing final yet but by Wednesday definitely we'll know."
