Cosmos force a draw with Leopards

Black Leopards were denied back-to-back playoff wins after Jomo Cosmos struck in added time to force a 2-2 draw.

Ezenkosi soon settled slowly and were presented with their first effort on goal through Wiseman Maluleka.

It was, however, Lidoda Duvha with the early smiles when Mwape Musonda buried home from close range following a loose ball on 12 minutes.

An error by Leopards goalkeeper Rotshidzwa Muleka put matters back to level pairing on 18 minutes after he failed to hang onto a shot from a corner kick.

Namibian Denzil Haoseb lined-up for a free-kick on 30 minutes, but he shot over the top, while a minute later he missed another inviting opportunity following another wayward shot at Muleka.

Following the interval, Leopards started the way they did in the first half and were nearly rewarded but Joseph Mhlongo failed to beat Muleka after a through ball by Meshack Maphangule.

A cross from the right made its way to Musonda at the back post, but he failed to make the most of his free header on 49 minutes.

The lead was eventually restored for the Limpopo outfit after Musonda completed his brace after cutting from the edge of the box for a near-post finish on 60 minutes.

The Zambian-born forward made a quick foray into the box, but after beating a few defenders failed to put the ball over the line in the final minutes.

Cosmos tried to claw their way back with a few changes from the bench and found their reward in added time with a late header from captain Thato Lingwati for a share of the spoils.
