Sadio Mane and Keita Balde headline the Senegal national team squad selected by head coach Aliou Cissé for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Cisse has remained loyal to the core group of players which have helped Senegal qualify for their first FIFA World Cup since 2002 with only one African based player.

Everton striker Oumar Niasse, Crystal Palace left-back Pape Souaré and former Newcastle midfielder Henri Saivet are amongst the most high profile absentees.

However, their attacking options of AS Monaco forward Keita Balde and Liverpool's Sadio Mane will bring major optimism, with the duo enjoying impressive seasons with their respective clubs.

Senegal squad:

Goalkeepers: Khadim Ndiaye (Horoya AC), Abdoulaye Diallo (Rennes), Alfred Gomis (Torino)

Defenders: Kara Mbodji (Anderlecht), Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli), Moussa Wague (Eupen), Saliou Ciss (Angers), Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux), Lamine Gassama (Alanyaspor), Salif Sane (Hannover 96)

Midfielders: Pape Alioune Ndiaye (Stoke), Idrissa Gueye (Everton), Cheikhou Kouyate (West Ham), Cheikh N'Doye (Birmingham)

Forwards: Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Diao Balde Keita (Monaco), Ismaila Sarr (Rennes), Diafra Sakho (Rennes), Moussa Konate (Amiens), Mame Biram Diouf (Stoke), Mbaye Niang (AC Milan), Moussa Sow (Bursaspor).
