Black Leopards head coach Joel Masutha says his players were shocked when they found out they will now be playing against Platinum Stars instead of Ajax Cape Town.
The PSL on Tuesday declared that Dikwena will contest the promotional play-offs instead of Ajax, who were automatically relegated to the National First Division after being docked points for fielding an ineligible player in Tendai Ndoro.
The Urban Warriors, however, are turning to the courts to try and interdict the play-offs.
"It was a bit of confusion and also it was a shock to some of them," Masutha tells KickOff.com.
"But you know we had a meeting during lunch time and we talked about it. Also we went to the pitch trying to motivate the guys again. So they have forgotten about Ajax, now they are focusing on Platinum. Actually the mood is okay now. Obviously we have to change [plans] because all along we were preparing for Ajax, and the two teams doesn't play the same kind of football.
"It was a bit of confusion, also the type of players that they have are different, so it's a touch and go situation. But at the moment we must just focus on ourselves and not on what Platinum can do. Yes, we do know one or two strengths that they have and they might also look dangerous, but we must just go out there and impose our style and play the attacking football that we've always been playing. Hopefully we'll get the goals and the results."
Masutha expects Roger de Sa's side to come out firing at 15h00 in Limpopo today.
"I think they know how difficult it is gonna be for them to come up again to the PSL. So this is their last chance and I think they will give their all. But at the same time we also know, we are not expecting any easy match, it will be more like a cup final. But I believe my boys are ready, so they will be able to deliver as it's been long overdue. In five years it's four times."
Leopards spokesperson Berry Ramunenyiwa says they expect a full house at Thohoyandou Stadium.
"All roads lead to Thohoyandou for Black Leopards on Wednesday for the NFD play-offs. Our supporters have vowed to fill up the stadium."
