Anele suffers European setback

Anele Ngcgonca's prospects of returning to Belgium got slimmer after Cercle Brugge parted ways with coach Frank Vercauteren.
The Mamelodi Sundowns defender last month revealed he had discussed heading back to Europe with Vercauteren, who he had worked with at Genk.
However, Vercauteren did not renew his contract with Brugge.
"The coach that won promotion didn't renew his contract with the club," says Ngcongca, who has a year left on his contract with the newly crowned Absa Premiership champions.
"I am still in contact with him. But my focus at the moment is with Sundowns and the Champions League."
Ngcongca has been hampered by injuries since linking up with Downs in August 2016 after spending nine years abroad, playing in Belgium and France.
He hopes for a clean bill of health in 2018/19.
"I hope I will be free of injury next season and will work hard to claim a position in the team."
