Orlando Pirates midfielder Xola Mlambo believes he is growing as a player at Mayfair.
Mlambo, who grew up in Soweto, has shown glimpses of brilliance since joining Bucs in January from Bidvest Wits.
"To be honest I joined Pirates in the second half of season and it was an honour as a kid growing up in Soweto. It's a dream come true," Mlambo said.
"Since joining Pirates it was a great honour and it still is wearing the Pirates jersey. It's an unbelievable and memorable moment that one can share.
"Ever since I have been here I have been learning a lot from the technical team, coaches and supporters. I feel very honoured to be part of such a great family and grateful to be given the opportunity to play amongst such talented individuals."
Mlambo reiterated his value with a man-of-the-match showing in the last game of the season against Free State Stars on Saturday. Bucs ran out 2-1 victors over Ea Lla Koto at Orlando Stadium to finish five points behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
"Winning man of the match, to be honest any of the individuals deserve to win it because we put in a good shift. We saw our youngster [Siphelele] Mbulu do great and he also deserves to be nominated for man of the match. We saw 'Section 10' [Thabo Qalinge], our defence as well.
"I can't go on every detail but everyone really put in a great effort and I was fortunate to be named man of the match," concluded the ex-Cape Town All Stars man.
Mlambo provided one assist in 19 appearances in all competitions in 2017/18.
