Ajax Cape Town will turn to the courts to try and stop the promotion/relegation play-offs from kicking off on Wednesday after SAFA's ruling effectively saw them relegated.
SAFA today announced Ajax had been docked points for fielding an ineligible player in Tendai Ndoro, meaning they finish bottom of the Absa Premiership standings instead of Platinum Stars.
The Urban Warriors were due to start their play-off campaign tomorrow against Black Leopards before facing Jomo Cosmos.
Ajax have since released a statement, which reads: 'Ajax Cape Town are currently consulting with their legal team regarding William Mokhari SC's arbitration ruling released this morning
'The club is in the process of preparing papers to be filed urgently before the High Court in Johannesburg for the matter to be heard tomorrow morning at 10am.
'Amongst other issues, the club will seek to interdict the promotion playoffs from commencing on Wednesday 16th May at 3pm. This will be sought pending an urgent review of the arbitrators award this morning.'
