Sameehg Doutie, Daine Klate, Mark Mayambela react to SAFA Arbitration ruling on Ajax Cape Town

Social media has been abuzz with reactions and suggestions to the news that Ajax Cape Town have been relegated after the outcome of the SAFA arbitration.

News broke earlier today that The Urban Warriors had been found guilty and sanctioned over the ineligible fielding of striker Tendai Ndoro, after processes drew out for several months.

The SAFA arbitration ruled that nine points were to be docked from Ajax's points tally, due to the disputes lodged by Polokwane City, Platinum Stars and SuperSport United, while they were also fined for each of the matches in which Ndoro played.

This resulted in the Cape-based side dropping to 16th place – the automatic relegation spot, below Platinum Stars, who now enter the relegation play-offs with promotion candidates Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos.

Twitter has since seen the news trending, with a number of current players amongst those reacting and suggesting possible implications, while one former Ajax winger sneered at the club over their fate.
