Kaizer Chiefs have scrapped their end-of-season awards ceremony.
Amakhosi have taken a tough stance following their unsatisfactory showing in 2017/18, calling off their annual celebrations for the first time in the club's history.
Update: We will not be hosting our traditional annual Players' Awards at the end of this season. It will be the first time in our history that we will not be having the event.— Kaizer Chiefs (@KaizerChiefs) May 15, 2018
Chiefs qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup by finishing third in the league but saw their trophy drought stretch to three years.
They reached a new low when unruly fans expressed their anger at the club's poor performances by vandalising stadia around the country in April – first at the FNB Stadium and a few weeks later at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The ugly scenes in Durban resulted in head coach Steve Komphela abruptly announcing his departure from the club, following their elimination from the Nedbank Cup semi-finals at the hands of Free State Stars.
