Hlompho Kekana’s dream of playing in Europe has never been fulfilled, but he’ll get an opportunity to play against "the best team in the world" at FNB Stadium tomorrow night.
The Mamelodi Sundowns captain could not hide his excitement about coming up against Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona in a Mandela Centenary Cup match tomorrow (18h15).
Kekana will face the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and the departing Andres Iniesta in midfield. Barca are expected to play two different sides in each half, hoping their stars do not get injured, especially with the FIFA World Cup coming up.
Kekana, an Athletic Bilbao supporter, says he is the biggest fan of the type of football Barcelona play.
“I can't pick one player I am looking forward to playing against because I will end up mentioning the whole team to be honest. So I am just happy to be playing the Barcelona team, the best team in the world,” Kekana tells KickOff.com.
“Every player is top, so you can imagine what’s going through my mind right now. I’m the biggest fan of their philosophy, so I am looking forward to the game.”
