AmaZulu have reportedly signed veteran goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs from Bidvest Wits.
“Yes, the club have signed Moeneeb Josephs and it is not about signing him [just for his playing ability], but also because of what he brings to the table [off the field],” says a source.
Siyabonga Mbatha is the current number one at Usuthu, who secured a top-eight finish with a 1-0 victory over visiting Cape Town City in their final game of the season on Saturday.
KickOff.com understands that fellow keeper Boalefa Pule is due to return to SuperSport United for the new campaign following his loan spell in Durban.
Josephs, 37, saw his game-time whittle away at Wits with the Students' signing of Darren Keet in July 2016.
'Slimkat', who joined Wits from Orlando Pirates in July 2013, made just 10 appearances in all competitions in 2017/18.
He boasts rich experience and many accolades on his CV, having won three league titles, three MTN8 Cups, two Telkom Knockout Cups and one Nedbank Cup since making his PSL debut in 1997/98.
AmaZulu have already added Emiliano Tade from Auckland City and Nhlanhla Vilakazi from Free State Stars to their roster for 2018/19.
