Tottenham striker Harry Kane has sent out a warning to Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who edged him to the Premier League Golden Boot this season.
Kane, 24, walked away with the Golden Boot for consecutive seasons but was pipped to the award by the prolific Egyptian forward by two goals.
Despite netting 30 times in 37 league appearances, the England international fell short and he believes the scintillating form of the Red superstar will push him to new heights.
"When you’re playing at this level there's always going to be players at the top and it's been great competition," he told Talk Sport.
"He's done fantastic this year and yeah, he's won the Golden Boot, for me, it's good competition and I'm excited to go again next year."
When reflecting on his overall tally of 41 goals in 48 games across all competitions this season, Kane sent out a warning to his goalscoring rivals.
"I think if you look at the goals and the way I'm playing - I definitely feel better.
"There's always room for improvement but every year I'm getting more physical and more experienced and I'm using that on the pitch."
