Lebo Mothiba was the hero for LOSC Lille as his brace secured their top-flight status next year, while Lebogang Moloto and Liam Jordan opened their scoring accounts in a good weekend for South Africans abroad.
In the penultimate game of the season, Dolly played the full 90 minutes for the first time this campaign as Montpellier drew 1-1 against Troyes, leaving them ninth on the log with just Stade Rennes left to face this season. A win, combined with other results, could see them finish the season as high as seventh, while a defeat could see them end 10th.
Erasmus came off the bench for the last nine minutes in just his third appearance for AFC Eskilstuna as they stretched their unbeaten run to five games in the Swedish Second Division, drawing 2-2 to Varberg which leaves them third on the log after seven games.
The South African made his 13th start of the season, playing the entire encounter as Scottish Second Division club Livingston drew 1-1 with Dundee United in their play-off semi-final to advance 4-3 on aggregate, booking a final spot against Partick Thistle for a place in next season’s top-flight.
Jordan came on as a substitute in the 70th minute, and was on the scoresheet 13 minutes later for the first time in Denmark as Second Division club Koge beat Roskilde 3-1, leaving them fifth on the log after 31 games.
Mahlangu registered his 30th appearance of the season as Dinamo Bucureşti beat second-placed Botosani 2-0 to remain top of the relegation round mini play-off league after nine games.
Mayambela made his fifth start of the season, but was substituted four minutes before half-time as IK Brage lost 4-3 at home to Falkenberg. They’re now four games without a win, and sit fifth in the Swedish Second Division after seven games.
Mfeka was replaced at half-time as USL side Reno 1868 completed a dramatic turnaround against Sacramento, coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 for just their third win of the season. The result leaves them 10th on the log after 13 games.
In his eighth start of the campaign, Moloto netted for the first time, scoring a brace in Nashville’s 2-0 win over Louisville City, leaving them eighth on the USL table after eight games.
Mothiba was the hero of the day for Lille, bagging a brace – totalling five now for the season since arriving in January – as he helped his side beat Dijon 2-1 to ensure their top-flight status with a game to spare. Lille sit 15th in Ligue 1, and now cannot be caught by 18th-placed Troyes who are four points behind.
After scoring his ninth goal in midweek, Ndlovu was kept at bay as Hangzhou Greentown drew 0-0 with bottom-of-the-log Xinjiang Tianshan, leaving them third on the Chinese Second Division standings after 11 games.
In his 13th appearance of the season, Sekgota bagged two assists as Stumbras beat bottom-placed Jonava 2-0 in their Lithuanian top-flight clash to sit seventh on the log after 13 games.
Serero made his 31st appearance of the season as Vitesse beat Ado Den Haag 2-1, and 7-3 on aggregate, to earn a Europa League final play-off spot against Utrecht.
Singh made his 35th appearance for Sporting Braga II in their final game of the season as they lost 1-0 to Sporting CP, as they narrowly missed the relegation play-offs on goal-difference by finishing 16th on the log.
Zungu suffered an ankle injury in training, and missed Amiens’ 2-0 over Metz which left them 12th on the log with one match left in the campaign.
