National First Division side Witbank Spurs have signed former Baroka captain Olaleng Shaku for the second time in three months.
The 30-year-old initially penned a contract with the Mpumalanga outfit in March after he was shown the door at Bakgaga for alleged bad behaviour, but wasn't allowed to play for his new club as he was brought in outside the transfer window.
Spurs CEO Freddy Mapulane confirmed that Shaku now belongs to the Emalahleni-based side.
"Ja, you will remember that we did sign Shaku but we couldn't use him, hence we reached an agreement with him to terminate that contract, and we gave him a new one," Mapulane tells KickOff.com.
"The new contract will start in the new season. An agreement was made between the two parties and his agent, we agreed to terminate it and gave him a pre-contract instead. We signed the new contract yesterday 5pm, we concluded everything yesterday. It's a one-year contract with an option."
Mapulane says he is currently working very hard to bring back to the club 30-year-old striker Joshua Sauls, who is currently a free agent. He also reveals that 21 of his first team players are facing an exit.
"We are monitoring Joshua Sauls, who is a former Royal Eagles player. His contract was terminated at Royal Eagles and he was with us before he went to Eagles. So we've started with negotiations. I think by the end of he week we will be finalising it. Contracts of 21 of our players have expired, so some of them will be retained but most of them they won't be retained."
Spurs are also on the lookout for a new coach following the departure of Vusi Mkhatshwa.
