Musa Nyatama is still searching for his first piece of silverware in his professional career, but the Orlando Pirates midfielder will not give up.
Speaking in the May edition (issue 493) of KICKOFF Magazine, Nyatama expressed a desire to win some silverware with the Buccaneers. They’ve missed out on winning the Absa Premiership, but they can definitely win a trophy next season if they build on from the current season.
“It [not winning silverware] means I have to work hard in order to finish my career on a high and win something, so that when I retire I can do so having left a legacy.
“I always play with the intention of winning, and I know that time is coming soon because we are heading in the right direction. I am sure we will definitely win some silverware in the coming seasons.”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder says he is enjoying working under coach Micho Sredojevic, as well as his assistants Rhulani Mokwena and Benson Mhlongo.
“You need to adjust to playing under different coaches, and with coach micho along with coach Rhulani and coach Benson, it has been wonderful because of the environment they have created. We are putting in the hours at training and even before training, we do a lot of note-taking whereby you analyse yourself as well as the team and the opponents.”
