SA Players Abroad wrap: Luther Singh on target, Lebo Mothiba impresses for Lille

Luther Singh netted his 11th goal of the season, while Lebo Mothiba's Lille earned a much-needed three points in their battle for Ligue 1 safety in this week’s wrap of South African footballers abroad.

THABO CELE

Cele played the full 90 minutes as Real SC lost 3-2 at home to Cova Piedade, leaving them bottom of the Portuguese Second Division standings by four points with two games to go.

KEAGAN DOLLY

A third defeat in a row for Montpellier has seen them drop from sixth to eighth in Ligue 1 in a matter of three weeks, this time going down 1-0 to fifth-placed Saint-Étienne.

Dolly was introduced in the 55th minute for left wingback Nicolas Cozza as the home side looked to chase the game but the former Mamelodi Sundowns man was unable to help end his side's slump.

KERMIT ERASMUS

AFC Eskilstuna will be in league action tonight against Degerfors, with Erasmus looking to build on his first goal of the season against Helsingborg last week.

KEAGHAN JACOBS

Jacobs received his 13th start of the season, playing the entire match as Scottish Second Division club Livingston suffered defeat to third-placed Dundee United.

Jacobs' side remain in second place despite the 2-0 loss and in contention for a place in the Scottish topflight next season via the play-offs.

KYLE JACOBS

Jacobs earned his 29th start of the campaign as Scottish Championship club Queen of the South made it three wins from three, beating Brechin City 5-1.

Jacobs grabbed an assist before being replaced in the 79th minute of the game, as his side finished fifth in the standings with no possibility of promotion.

GIFT LINKS

Links received his 10th start of the campaign as Egyptian topflight club Assiouty Sport drew 1-1 with 13th-placed Tala'ea El Gaish, leaving them ninth on the log after 33 games.

The promising South African winger featured for the full 90 minutes, impressing on the right side of midfield as an inside forward.

MAY MAHLANGU

The 28-year-old Mahlangu is in action for Dinamo Bucureşti tonight against domestic rivals Sepsi.

MIHLALI MAYAMBELA

Mayambela played the full 90 minutes in his third start of the season as IK Brage succumbed to a 1-1 draw with fallen Swedish giants Helsingborgs, to remain in third place after five games played.

KAMOHELO MOKOTJO

Brentford's slim play-off hopes ended on Saturday when they suffered a 2-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Barnsley. Moktojo was introduced off the substitutes' bench in the 72nd minute but was unable to inspire his side to a comeback in the final stages.

LEBO MOTHIBA 

Mothiba played the full 90 minutes in his 11th start for the club as they beat Metz 3-1.

The 22-year-old failed to etch his name on the scoresheet but produced an industrious display at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, to help his side move within two points of safety in the Ligue 1 relegation fight.

DINO NDLOVU

Ndlovu made his eighth start for Hangzhou Greentown in the Chinese Second Division as they played out a 1-1 draw with Beijing BG on Saturday, leaving them fourth on the log after eight games.

KGOSIETSILE NTLHE

Ntlhe was an unused substitute for League One side Rochdale as they suffered a damaging defeat to Oxford United, leaving them a point from safety with one game remaining in the English third tier.

LEBOGANG PHIRI

Phiri came on for the last nine minutes for his 21st appearance of the campaign as Guingamp earned a creditable 2-2 draw against champions Paris Saint-Germain, leaving them 11th in Ligue 1 after 35 games.

Despite his recent cameo roles, it's been a positive debut campaign for the 23-year-old, who's been heavily involved with the exciting French outfit.

KGAOGELO SEKGOTA

The 20-year-old started his fifth game of the season, playing the full 90 minutes as Lithuanian club Stumbras lost 2-0 at home to Trakai, with former Everton winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov grabbing a brace.

Stumbras are now in seventh place after 10 games played.

LUTHER SINGH

Singh started his 32nd game of the season as Sporting Braga II cruised to a 4-0 triumph over eighth-placed FC Porto II, which eased their relegation concerns.

The South Africa international converted a 54th-minute penalty which marked his 11th league goal of the season in the Portuguese second tier.

BONGANI ZUNGU

Zungu played 80 minutes in his 24th appearance of the season as Amiens earned a point against AS Monaco with a 0-0 draw at Stade Louis II.

The result leaves Zungu's side in 13th place - nine points away from the relegation zone with three games left in the campaign.
