Veteran defender Joseph Musonda has been appointed as player-assistant coach at Nkana FC.
Musonda – who turns 41 next month – remains active in the Zambian Super League competing with players half his age.
“They actually offered me the assistant coaching job on a full-time basis but I turned it down,” Musonda tells KickOff.com from his Zambian base.
Nkana are coached by Beston Chambeshi, who is assisted by Manfred Chabinga.
“I feel I still want to play on and so that is what they have actually appointed me as a player-assistant coach. Luckily I already hold a CAF C licence so my path in coaching is already laid down. However, for now my body still feels fit enough to carry me on in playing professional football,” he says.
Musonda played in the PSL until just three years ago when he did duty for Polokwane City. He had previously been with Free State Stars and Golden Arrows.
