The final for the Nedbank Cup has been confirmed, with Maritzburg United named the home team and set to face Free State Stars at the Cape Town Stadium on May 19.

The Team of Choice will contest their first-ever cup final after dumping out favourites Mamelodi Sundowns, with Fadlu Davids' men clinching a 3-1 win over the 10-man Brazilians on Sunday.

United will now take on Free State Stars in the final after Ea Lla Koto dispatched Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, a match that will go down in infamy following the horrendous rioting and attacks that took place after the full-time whistle.

Maritzburg, being drawn as the home side, will now get preference when it comes to kit colour on the day, as well as which dressing room to use and substitutes' bench to occupy.

The clash will take place in the Mother City on May 19, although the kick-off time is yet to be confirmed.
