Orlando Pirates' reserve team goalkeeper Tsebo Tsotetsi is determined to help his side see off arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the inaugural MultiChoice Diski Shield.
The Soweto rivals will collide at 12h00 at Vosloorus Stadium on Sunday.
Pirates will look to build on their 6-1 rout of Platinum Stars last time out, having opened their MDS campaign with a loss to Bidvest Wits.
Chiefs, meanwhile, need only a draw to advance to the semi-finals of the event following victories over Stars and Wits.
Bucs have yet to beat Amakhosi since the MultiChoice Diski Challenge was formed four years ago, but Tsotetsi is confident of bucking the trend this weekend.
“Preparations have been going well and the coach has instilled a sense of belief and confidence in us,” Tsotetsi told his club's website.
“Everyone is committed and we have an appetite to win the tournament. Winning the MultiChoice Diski Shield is extremely important to us as players because we would love to show our appreciation to management and the coaching staff for all their hard work since the formation of the Reserve League and now the tournament.”
He added: “We have to win on Sunday, it’s as simple as that. Victory will not only be our first win over Chiefs but it is a step closer to reaching our goal of being crowned champions of the inaugural MultiChoice Diski Shield.”
The MDS was recently launched in response to complaints that the MDC only entails 15 fixtures in a season when there are 16 clubs in the competition.
