Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase is well aware of the stakes heading into their Nedbank Cup semi-final with Free State Stars.
Amakhosi are gunning for Ke Yona gold in a bid to avoid three straight seasons without silverware under coach Steve Komphela, whose contract at Naturena expires in June.
With Chiefs' league title aspirations crumbling earlier this month, Ntshangase knows the Khosi nation expect to be placated on the weekend.
"We haven’t won a trophy for two seasons," Ntshangase is quoted as saying on his club's website.
"We definitely want to reach the final, which will give us an opportunity to win something.”
Ntshangase has only made two starts since his high-profile signing from Baroka in January, but insists the Glamour Boys' success is his top priority.
“It’s all about the team.”
He added: “I have to be ready whenever I am asked to play.”
Asked whether he thinks he will start against Stars, he replied: “If I get a chance I will grab it with both hands.”
Komphela's charges will ignite hostilities with Ea Lla Koto at 20h15 at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
