Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne on why Premier League Champions will become a real force

Posted: 17 April 2018 Time: 16:56

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has opened up about the incredible Premier League title-winning season and how they will sustain the success within the English top-flight.

With Chelsea, a prime example of how champions can fall from grace within a single season, De Bruyne insists the squad assembled by manager Pep Guardiola will not suffer the same fate.

In reference to the youthful squad with an average age of 26,5 amongst the 23 registered players, the playmaker feels it will be an integral part of their ambition to maintain their success of winning the title, with five games to spare and the Carabao Cup.

"It's no coincidence that the type of players brought in over the last year or two have all been of a similar age and we will look to build as a group together," he told the club's official website.

"The feeling amongst the squad is great. We have enjoyed the season a lot but there is work to do if we want to achieve more in future.

"That can be the trickiest thing in football, to not only win but keep winning. Having such a young squad will hopefully help us to achieve that."
