Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic is praying that in-form winger Thembinkosi Lorch will not miss the rest of the season.
Lorch dislocated his shoulder in a collision with AmaZulu captain Mbongeni Gumede in Pirates’ 2-1 victory at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
It looked like an innocuous challenge when both men tussled for the ball, but the smaller Lorch came out worse for wear and was replaced by Augustine Mulenga before the second half in Umlazi.
The 24-year-old, who has scored four goals in 24 appearances this season, later joined his teammates on Bucs' bench clutching his right shoulder. He looked to be in pain despite receiving treatment from the club's medical department.
"Despite getting an injection he [Lorch] couldn’t continue and I just pray hard because he has had a wonderful season,” said 'Micho'.
“He was with Bafana Bafana recently and I strongly hope that this injury is not putting him out for the rest of season, because it is a dislocation or something like that on his shoulder, and I hope that he’ll come back.”
The former Chippa United winger also missed a chunk of last term with a shoulder injury.
Lorch has been a key contributor to the title contenders' revival this season, with his form earning a Bafana Bafana call-up for the four-nations tournament in Zambia last month.
