AmaZulu have agreed to a long-term sponsorship deal with kit supplier Umbro.

Usuthu have not revealed the length of the contract, which comes into effect at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Lunga Sokhela, the club's general manager, is excited by the partnership.

“It’s an exciting deal for us because our club will have the best quality technical football product and apparel in the upcoming season,” he is quoted as saying on the Premiership outfit's official website.

“What’s also great news is we are working with a trusted brand known for its design excellence and I believe our supporters will come to appreciate the accessibility of club merchandise across many stores in the country. We look forward to the launch of the jersey which will be revealed in due course.”

Umbro South Africa’s director Donovan Bell added: “We’re delighted that AmaZulu will be wearing our universally recognised double-diamond at the start of the 2018/19 season.

“Our brand is steeped in football history and we recognised this to be a natural fit with AmaZulu who themselves have a significant and rich heritage in South African football. This is an important step in our growth locally and we are excited for the AmaZulu fans to see the bespoke kits we will be creating in partnership with the club.”

AmaZulu lost 2-1 at home to title contenders Orlando Pirates on the weekend, leaving the Durban-based side in 11th spot on the table with 32 points from 27 games - four points above the drop zone.
