Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Ligue 1 champions after thumping AS Monaco 7-1 on Sunday evening.

The runaway leaders, who were without world record signing Neymar, ran rampant at Parc des Princes to seal the French league title with five games left in the season.

PSG got off to a good start as they found the opening goal after 14 minutes, with Giovani Lo Celso finishing off a fine team move.

Edinson Cavani doubled the hosts' lead three minutes later with a towering header following a cross from Yuri Berchiche.

It got better for the host on 20 minutes when Angel di Maria got in on the act with lob over goalkeeper Danijel Subasic, with Cavani picking up the assist.

Ceslo bagged his second and PSG's fourth goal eight minutes later as he rose well to head home Javier Pastore's cross.

The visitors did manage to reduce the deficit before the break courtesy of a close-range finish from Ronny Lopes.

However, the second continued in the same fashion as the first as PSG netted a fifth goal after 58 minutes through a deflected effort from Di Maria.

Emery's charges were not done there as they were gifted a sixth in the 76th minute thanks to an own goal from Monaco's Radamel Falcao.

The scoring was rounded off with four minutes remaining as Julian Draxler celebrated his first title by converting Thomas Munier's cross.
