Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane says he is comfortable coming on as an impact player for the side.
Zwane, who has four goals and six assists in all competitions this season, came on as a substitute in three of Sundowns' matches last week against Cape Town City, Chippa United and Baroka FC.
The last time ‘Mshishi’ started a league match was on March 2, when Masandawana beat AmaZulu 3-1 at King Zwelithini Stadium. Coach Pitso Mosimane has recently gone with Uruguayan Gaston Sirino in his starting line-up, using Zwane as an impact player in the second half.
Despire not featuring in the starting line-up, Zwane says he is happy to come off the bench, as long as the team is winning.
“At the moment I put the team first. As long as the team is winning I appreciate whatever time the coach gives me,” Zwane tells KickOff.com.
“I will do my best with whatever time they give me on the pitch.”
Sundowns take on outgoing league champions Bidvest Wits at Loftus Stadium on Saturday (18h00), hoping to open the gap at the top of the table to six points.
After losing the title to the Clever Boys last season, Sundowns want to make sure that they get the job done this time round.
