Downs vs Wits among biggest games

Hlompho Kekana believes the Mamelodi Sundowns versus Bidvest Wits clash has become one of the biggest encounters on the PSL calendar.
In recent seasons the battles between the two sides have produced a lot of action, while the build-up to their meetings would not be complete without the mind games from coaches Pitso Mosimane and Gavin Hunt. They both have quality players in their sides and the clubs are hungry for success, making their meetings even more intriguing.
Wits are not in the title race this season, but they will be out to get a win so that they can boost their chances of finishing in the top eight. They are currently in 10th place, while Sundowns sit at the summit.
“Yes [it's one of the biggest games in the PSL]. We as players always look forward to play against Wits, because they are a difficult team to beat. Those are the kinds of fixtures we like, because it brings too many lessons,” the former SuperSport United player tells KickOff.com.
“We as Sundowns always want to play Wits because they are difficult. But we know if we play our game and manage their movements and avoid giving away set pieces in front of our box, then we can get the points.”
After playing three matches in six days last week, Sundowns have had a bit of a break this week before tomorrow’s match against the Clever Boys.
The 2-1 victory over Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday impressed Kekana the most. They had to come from behind after Lucky Nguzana had given Bakgaga the lead.
“We are happy that we managed to win against Baroka because it was an important one for us. Last season the match against Baroka was difficult for us, so winning there was good for us.”
